Other flags were created by "marshalling by dimidiation" of the UK and EU flags, either with the hoist half of the UK flag and fly half of the EU flag (photo or with the hoist half of the EU flag and fly half of the UK flag (photo). The shade of blue is the same in both fields, closer to that of the EU flag than that of the UK flag.

French and German flags charged with the twelve yellow stars from the European Union flag were used at a rally in Paris on 19 March 2017 (photo).
On the German flag, the stars are actually the same color as the gold
field, with a black fimbriation; on the French flag, the stars have no fimbriation.
